Alleged renders of Google Pixel 9a surfaced online back in October. These images suggested the rear camera module may finally see a redesign. Instead of a large horizontal camera bar on the Pixel 9 series, we may get a small oval-shaped layout for the rear camera sensors. Months later, the alleged live images of the Pixel 9a have now leaked online and these too show a similar design.
Google Pixel 9a design leaked
- The live images of the Google Pixel 9a were shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @feni_book and these show the front and rear design.
- The front side of the phone has a centre punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, flat edges, and narrow bezels.
- The phone appears to have a boxy chassis with rounded corners for good grip.
- Moving to the back, there is a pill/oval-shaped module aligned towards the left edge, which houses dual camera sensors. There is an LED flash beside the layout.
- The back panel looks to have a unique pattern design and a different logo instead of a Google logo.
- Moving past the design, the rear panel of the Pixel 9a has a sticker that mentions ‘EVT‘, which means an engineering validation test device.
- The sticker also has the IMEI number of the phone. Feeding the number to an IMEI database reveals that it is a Google device with the model number GTF7P.
- It isn’t clear whether this is just a prototype unit or a representative of the final product.
